In recognition of difficulties in identifying appropriate and sufficient human resources in support of transitional settlement and shelter operations by the international community and governments, an online register will be established. The Shelter Register will:
- be open to sectoral specialists and trained potential first mission candidates
- seek to present research to the humanitarian aid community and governments, academic and policy development capacity, especially for undertaking assessments, evaluations, and NFI research and development
- seek to coordinate with existing services and registers
- present to specialist and research capacity sectoral news, information and career development opportunities
